Terms of Use

Last updated:

MetaDelete helps you understand and manage supported metadata in photos and videos. These terms explain what you can expect from the service and what we ask of you in return.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use cover metadelete.com and its current tools. The service is operated by Metadelete, headquartered in India, at B-4, Pragati Vihar Colony, Gole Ka Mandir, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India, 474005. You can reach us at contact@metadelete.com.

By choosing to use the service, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please do not use it. You must be legally able to agree, or have a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision where the law allows that arrangement. If you use MetaDelete for an organisation, you must have authority to do so.

2. What the current tools do

The viewer reads supported file properties and embedded metadata. The editor writes supported descriptive XMP fields. The remover selectively removes supported private fields. Viewing takes place in your browser. Protected editing and removal upload the file for private processing and provide a separate downloaded copy.

The current workflow handles one file at a time. Local viewing supports files up to 100 MB; protected server exports currently support up to 32 MB. Supported exports include JPEG, PNG, WebP and supported MP4 / MOV containers. Capabilities vary by format, browser, codec and file structure. Vendor tags, binary IPTC blocks, embedded previews, keyed video metadata and other unrecognised fields may remain.

Removing selected fields is not a complete privacy wipe. Visible faces, landmarks and other clues in the actual image or video are not removed by these tools. You are responsible for reviewing your exported copy before sharing it and keeping your original file.

3. Your content and responsibility

You keep your rights in the media you process. MetaDelete does not take ownership of your files. You must own the content or have permission to process it and make the metadata changes you choose. Using the tool does not grant copyright, a licence or permission that you did not already have.

Descriptions, creator credits, copyright statements, device details and creation history you enter should be accurate. A device used to edit content is not automatically the camera that recorded it. Self-reported information is not verified evidence.

4. Use the service responsibly

Please do not use MetaDelete to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, impersonate a person or creator, falsify rights or camera origin, conceal unlawful activity, or misrepresent the authenticity of content. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, disrupt the website, introduce malicious code or misuse its endpoints.

MetaDelete does not offer AI-label evasion, create a false camera origin or guarantee a platform-label outcome. The current tools preserve AI-related metadata and block rewriting when a supported provenance record is detected. They do not validate signatures or establish whether a scene or a claim is true.

5. Free viewing and paid access

Metadata viewing is free. The pricing page describes removal and editing passes, periods and file allowances. Paid passes are account-linked and start after payment capture has been verified. Every successful verified export uses one image or video allowance for its tool. Failed, rejected and unchanged exports use none. Retrying the same completed export uses no additional allowance. Editing and removal passes are separate. Passes expire after the period shown and do not renew automatically.

Checkout states the final amount and currency, any applicable taxes or fees, the plan period, when access begins, usage limits, any renewal arrangements and applicable cancellation or refund terms. No recurring payment is authorised merely by visiting this site.

INR is the base pricing currency. Other display currencies are estimated conversions, not a guaranteed bank exchange rate or a final payment quote. Your purchase is subject to the terms shown and accepted when that purchase is made. See our Refund Policy for the current position.

6. Privacy and other services

Our Privacy Policy explains local viewing, temporary server processing, accounts and orders, website technical data, email correspondence and currency lookup. Do not send sensitive media to support unless an appropriate method has first been agreed.

Links to social platforms, documentation or service providers do not make MetaDelete affiliated with or endorsed by those organisations. Their services, terms, labels and moderation decisions are outside our control.

7. Availability and limits

We aim to provide a useful service and describe its current limits accurately. The tools may contain errors, be unavailable, change over time or be unable to process a particular file. There is no promise that every tag will be found or removed, or that another application will read or retain metadata in the same way.

Keep backups and check that a downloaded file opens correctly. Do not rely on a metadata result alone as proof of authorship, consent, ownership, privacy, AI origin or authenticity. We may restrict access when reasonably needed to protect the service or respond to misuse, subject to any obligations that apply to paid access if introduced.

8. Website rights and legal responsibility

Metadelete and its licensors retain their rights in the website’s branding, original design and software, except where separate open-source or third-party licences apply. You may use the site and tools for their intended purpose, but must not falsely present our branding as an endorsement or claim ownership of our original materials.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused by unsupported uses, failure to keep a backup, inaccurate information you supply, or actions of third-party platforms outside our control. These terms do not exclude liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. They do not take away mandatory consumer rights.

9. Questions, applicable law and changes

If something goes wrong, please contact contact@metadelete.com so we can understand the issue. This does not prevent you from using a complaint process, regulator, court or other remedy available to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. Nothing here requires you to give up a right to bring a claim before a court or authority that has jurisdiction under applicable law.

We may revise these terms as the service develops. The revision date appears above. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights attached to an earlier purchase. Where a material change requires notice or agreement, we will provide the notice or seek agreement required by law.
